Hey! I hope you all are enjoying the summer. It’s been a while. Boy, we have been so busy here in Colorado! Working, landscaping, painting and all the things to get our home up for sale. It’s a bittersweet time for us. Looking forward to this new chapter in our lives but sad to leave beautiful Colorado but most importantly our 2 boys that will stay in Colorado to attend college. My husband has resigned from his current job of 33 years and had accepted a job in East Tennessee. We have been praying for some time now that he will find a job that requires no traveling and that prayer has been answered. Even though he took a major pay cut, we would much rather have him home every night. So, here’s to new beginnings. My title a healthier home is entitled to just that. This past year I have made a committed to having a healthier home, for example: cleaner products from harmful toxins. Have you ever looked the ingredients in your shampoo, your fabric softener, laundry detergent, deodorant, etc.? You might just want to take a look at them. you would be shocked and if you don’t know what they are than research them. I want to sure a few things that I have changed in our home and each day looking, researching to find better products to have a more healthier home. Laundry! Laundry! Laundry! It’s a never ending chore. I have sone some research on the laundry detergent and still haven’t found the right laundry detergent for our family that is toxin free but still cleans, I will keep you all posted when I do. Now the fabric sheets or softener I have. I have switched from toxic fabric sheets to wool dryer balls and let me tell you, I love them!! They are amazing! I add several drops of lavender to a wool dryer ball and toss into the dryer. You could use lemon or lavender or your preference of an essential oil. Not only is it all natural but it saves on your dryer time as well. It softens your clothes naturally without the chemicals. You can use 3-4 dryer wool balls for a small load or 5-6 for a large load. A healthy alternative for drying your clothes. Wool dryer balls usually last up to 1,000 uses making this inexpensive and healthy. Here’s a link for the ones I use
These are inexpensive and work great! I picked up a couple from Walmart as well but they were smaller and the quality not as great. Also here’s a link to the lavender essential oil I use as well.
There’s so many benefits to essential oils. Lavender is one of my favorites. I use it in my diffuser, it helps us sleep better at night. Lemon is one of my favorites for all natural cleaning. I will be sharing some of my recipes for all natural glass cleaner, all purpose cleaner and much more. Stay tuned! Please let me know if you try these products and let me know what you think. And if you have any favorite all natural cleaner please share! Thank you and have a blessed day!
