Today we are going to share with y’all one of our kids favorites!
This is such a budget friendly and time saving recipe! And if you are a busy mama like us, those two qualities mean everything. We usually prep our meals for the week on Sundays in between church and my girls always want to make food of their own so this has been an amazing addition to our meal prepping! We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Homemade Freezable French Toast Sticks
Ingredients:
10 slices of Texas toast bread
4 eggs
2/3 cup of milk
1 tsp. Vanilla (we use this brand, click on the pic)
Simply Organic Vanilla
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tbsp butter
Directions:
Start by slicing each piece of bread into 4 slices. Set aside.
Mix together in large bowl, eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon until well combined. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat in a skillet. Begin dunking each slice of bread into egg/milk mixture and placing into the heated skillet. Not kick on each side until browned. When done remove and place onto plate and repeat with remaining sticks.
Once cooked and cooled place each stick onto baking sheet and place in the freezer for about an hour until frozen. Then remove and transfer into large gallon size freezer bags. Make sure to label the contents and date. Try to remove as much air as possible to prevent freezer burn. Store in freezer until ready to eat.
When ready to serve remove from freezer and heat up in the toaster. Enjoy 🙂
